I will never forget the great times we had out in the boat, looking for whales, chasing them and the time we accidently hit one in the fog on the way to Halifax. I will miss you, boating will not be the same.

It is a long time since I crossed paths with Wally. Probably Mid 50's Mount A days. Our connections run throught the Norrie Family but we have watched and admired Wally's contribution to the general well being of Canada. There is an old saying that " We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give" Wally truly represents the latter.

I had the pleasure of living with my parents, very close to McCain home, in West Florenceville, across from the Baptist Church. We were in and out of the McCain home.
I started grade #1 at the primary room with Gladys Trafford as a teacher for two years;in grade #4 my teacher, Elsie Veysey,a close relative of the Nicholson family.
Our home burned in 1935 and we moved to East Florenceville to complete grade#4. After finishing Woodstock High School I met the McCain and Sutherland sons at UNB.I ended up at Dalhousie Medical School with my MD. CM in 1954 and married Anne Oxley the same day Gladys Trafford was invited (13/08/1956) to the McCain wedding.Gladys attended our wedding: Without the support of Mrs McCain, and Women's Institute I was able to complete Dalhousie with out any debit!
With all my sympathy.

To Mrs. McCain, Michael, Scott, Eleanor & Martha,
In the few years that I had the privilege of arranging the MCC retreats and a few special family vacations, I was fortunate to get to know much of the family. For the last few trips I arranged, I worked directly with Wallace. I looked forward to and enjoyed every conversation with him because as much as he was a giant in the business world, he was one of the most down to earth people I had met. I was honoured to know him and my heart goes out to all of you.
May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in your wonderful memories.
with sadness,
Raquel

My Deepest Sympathy for the McCain family on the loss of Wallace.
I had the honour of working with Wallace at Maple Leaf Foods from 1995 to 1999. His lessons on both business and life will remain with me as I am certain they do for many others that he has touched.
May God Bless you on the Journey Wallace.

Having lived in Florenceville, and worked for McCains for 28 years, my wife and I were priviliged to know Wallace and his family personally. We send each of them our deepest sympathy at this very difficult time.
