Dear Margie and Family,
Our deepest sympathies go to you and the McCain family on the passing of Wallace. Although I'd only met Wallace on a couple of occasions, my lasting impression was of a person, who despite world class accomplishments, still related effortlessly to ordinary folk.

John and I extend our deepest sympathy to all the McCain family.
My father, Arnold Banks and grandfather Barry Banks were great friends of the McCain's. The elder boys Bob and Andrew had an avid interest in horses and cattle as did my dad and grandfather. As a young girl I was the one who helped start the foals by playing with them to get them ready for the Valley Stables standard racing barn. I also was Nancy McCain for a day as Bob and Rosemary flew me with them to Halifax to a dairy show. My first time on a plane, in a hotel and to a large city. What a thrill!
The McCain brothers were a huge help to our family farm in building our business. Our farm still contracts potatoes with McCain Foods Canada making it 40 plus years that we have been doing business together.
Later I worked on what we all called the "third floor" of McCain Foods. Wallace always had time to stop and chat when he came in and he would ask about my parents and remember fondly my grandparents. He was never to busy for a kind word.
Great friends built great communities and the McCain's helped built one of the best and it is called Florenceville-Bristol, NB.

On behalf of The Grand Falls Fry plant, I would like to offer our condolences to the McCain family. When word spread through our plant over the weekend it certainly took us back. The supervisor on shift, James Rouselle, a 15 year employee decided to put a short break in the processing line and as a group the plant team reflected on all that we have here in Grand Falls today. Then, a moment was had to imagine what it would have looked like if it were not for all the McCain Family has done for us. Very powerful.. I think James's actions over the weekend reflected our plant culture and represented how we feel. You have our deepest sympathy.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Margie and the McCain family. Wallace’s kindness and generosity touched so many people at The National Ballet of Canada – especially our dancers. His passion for the organizations he volunteered with was an inspiration to our community, and far beyond. He will be greatly missed.

I worked as a housekeeper for Wallace's mother between my 11th & 12th year of High School. That was in 1953. Wallace and the rest of the family came and went often. I remember him as a young man who was always busy and on the go. Wallace was also just one year ahead of my sister in High School.
